Having been to Ubud before, my boyfriend ad I were looking for more of a private home experience, rather than a hotel.
We were not disappointed,,,Bali Ubud Villa was our ‘home’ for a few days in March.
We enjoyed the ‘outdoor’ living area, overlooking the garden, pool and picturesque rice fields, with scenic mountains in the distance. We truly felt like being a part of nature,,,and the frog choirs at night was very entertaining!
The garden/pool area is nicely landscaped, creating much privacy , without obstructing the scenery. We enjoyed nightly massages in the Tea House, arranged by the Owner, for about $10.00US (!!).
Speaking of the owner, he was super nice and helpful. He would arrange transport into Ubud, a 10 minute drive, when we needed. He even took us to the local grocery store himself, and waited for us a couple of times! He also showed us his favorite place for Padang food,,,we took it ‘to go’ and heated it up in the microwave for dinner! We found the kitchen to be adequate for the couple of nights we cooked.
We also lucked out during our stay, as ‘Nyepi’, the Hindu Balinese New Year, was celebrated. We had fun seeing the many creative ‘ogoh-ogoh’ statues, made by the local villages, being paraded. And the following day, we, like the rest of Bali, observed the ‘Day of Silence’, by staying at the villa all day!
We thoroughly enjoyed our ‘Balinese home’ experience in a beautiful villa!
Was looking to returning to Ubud with my girlfriend. We had already experienced staying in town, but now wanted a more laid back setting. A villa rental seemed like a good idea, especially as we really wanted to have our own private pool.
The outdoor living area was a great experience,,,the rice field views and mountains in the background, mesmerized us. We observed workers planting rice, while ducks roamed around.
And we had a couple of wow sunsets! Was fun being able to jump into the pool at any time of day! Also enjoyed massages in the tea house, near the pool!
The kitchen area had the amenities we needed. And the bedrooms each have their own ac unit; the bathrooms each have separate shower (nice size) and tub.
The owner, Jaya, was helpful arranging rides into Ubud for us. Coming back, it’s easy to get a taxi for the 10 minute drive. Jaya even made a small map for us to keep to show to the drivers!
We walked to a local Balinese restaurant one night, and enjoyed some fish and other Balinese dishes.
One night we were given a Balinese cooking class by Jaya’s wife,,,and we were lucky to also be able to go to the store with her beforehand, to help pick out the food and ingredients needed!
Jaya also arranged a rafting trip for us down the Ayung River!
Hoping to get some friends to come with us next time!
We had a fantastic time at Bali Ubud Villa in Bunutan. The view over the rice fields with the mountains asia backdrop were beautiful. Both bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and the combination of the old And new building styles work great. The biggest credit goes to Jaya and how wife Ketut. They offered outstanding service and have been so helpful. Ketut’s breakfast is fantastic, especially the fried bananas. We definitely will come back and can highly recommend Bali Ubud Villa.
What a gorgeous place this is, and how wonderfully kind and helpful the owner Jaya and his wife Ketut! We spent a week in Jaya’s villa and enjoyed the views, the food, the hospitality and the swimming pool enormously. Ketut makes great breakfasts and she’s a natural mother like I’ve never seen before: she took care of our one-year-old with great skill and pleasure. Jaya helped us with everything, just a text message away. He would drive us into Ubud, arrange rafting, organize a trip to the hot springs and showed us what the Balinese culture (and new-year) was all about. Would definitely go back, highly recommended.
We had a 4 day stay at Bali Ubud Villa with our 3 children and we had a great time there. The 2 bedrooms were comfortable, the pool was just the nice size ; kids had much fun in the pool. Jaya, the owner, and Katut, his wife, were the most friendly hosts. In fact, his extended family of brothers and cousins made us feel so cared for that we felt like we were at home. Jaya arranged our activities for the day and katut prepared delicious breakfasts. We would gladly recommend Jaya’s Villa to those looking for a quiet time with family.
